Malia is a tattoo artist, based in New Orleans, LA. She offers tattoos as activating and transformative medicine, created in ritual space.

Her approach is deeply rooted in the ancient origins of tattoo as a medicinal and shamanic practice.

Her process utilizes the healing power of sound and vibration expressed both sonically and visually through symbols and patterns, incorporating light language and prayer as a way to facilitate potent energetic work.

Malia perceives tattoos as a form of prayer that become initiated through the process, integrating into the energetic field of a person’s being.

In this way, she holds space for the excavation of dense energetic patterns within the recipient while simultaneously imbuing the recipient with restorative and empowering energies. 

Each tattoo session is considered to be a ceremony, and the recipient's body and spirit is deeply honored in a safe space. Beginning with a discussion about the prayer/intention for the work,

 Malia intuits a design that carries the prayer into the recipient's being. 

A ten minute energy/body work session follows, using sound and light language, leading into the tattoo.
