Regulate to Relate:

R & R: Integrating the Eight Limbs of Yoga for Sustainable Clinical Practice

Session 1: Foundations for Clinical Presence

This opening session is a yoga-based experiential class introducing the Eight Limbs of Yoga, as described in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, as a framework for mental clarity, emotional regulation, and sustainable therapeutic presence. Designed for mental health therapists, behavioral health professionals, and students in behavioral health fields, participants will explore the concept of “stilling the fluctuations of the mind” and how internal regulation supports relational attunement and effective clinical work. This first session of the series provides an overview of the Eight Limbs as an integrated system supporting self-awareness, ethical practice, and clinician wellbeing, while introducing how each limb will be explored throughout the series. Reflective discussion and optional yoga and somatic practices help participants integrate contemplative approaches that promote therapist regulation and resilience.

This session is intended for behavioral health professionals and students only. Attendees will receive 1 CEU, and the event includes light snacks, casual networking, and a brief educational presentation from Alsana highlighting eating disorder resources for clinicians.

Space is limited and reservations must be made. Email laurawaltonLMFT@gmail.com to reserve your spot.
